So just because you haven't needed to call support, or can't think of reasons why others would, doesn't mean that there aren't thousands of people who need to resolve issues outside of retail hours. ![]() Another example, a friend of mine had their phone hacked a yeah ago, and needed to contact customer support to attempt to resolve it. That's only one of countless other issues that can happen at any time of day, leaving people without a service they rely on, or may need in an emergency. Interruption of service isn't some "super specific" example it's a common occurrence. OK so your super specific example is basically the only reason anyone needs dire, immediate customer service right? I know most companies do it, but that doesn't make it right. Verizon's service has gone downhill dramatically, while they're charging more than ever. "Just call during the week and schedule a call back to a time that works for you."? Really? So when a sim card goes bad on the weekend, or after 5pm on a Sunday, you're just out of luck? Nobody expects Verizon wireless reps to be "on call", but for a company that advertises 24/7 Customer Service. "human schedules"? Really? I've happily worked late hours, and night shifts BY CHOICE.
